  1. Linda says:

I’m confused. Reading through the Q&A’s regarding beach umbrellas, some answers say beach umbrellas will be available for rent while other answers say they won’t. Can you clarify please? If available for rent, do you know the general price range? I am considering arranging a group of us to go, but need to accurately provide details and costs. Thank you kindly.

    • FL Air Show says:

Hi Linda, yes, umbrellas will be available for rent – unfortunately we don’t have pricing options at this time. You are able to bring your own umbrellas as well if you like.

  2. Gary E Adkins says:

My tickets say “no cooler, or outside food allowed”. Only allowed “1 bottle of sealed water per person”. However, some of these questions on this website indicated otherwise. Please provide clarification, specifically is food and water allowed and can I bring a small cooler to keep my water cold in?

    • FL Air Show says:

Hey Gary, sounds like we’ve got a mistype on the tickets – we’ll check in with our ticketing team on that. Yes, you are allowed to bring a cooler with snacks and water, just not alcoholic beverages! There will also be vendors selling food.

  3. RichF14 says:

I bought Drop Zone tickets thinking this was show central. I saw on the page for the VIP Penthouse page, that show center for the Blue Angels is the VIP hotel. Which is a mile north. So where is show central? Is it at the drop zone, or the VIP Penthouse hotel?

    • FL Air Show says:

Hi Rich, so the Drop Zone beach is our main general admission seating area, and does have a great view of the show! The planes will be flying all along the area from Sunrise Blvd. north to about 22nd Street, so all of the ticket holders in that area have a great view. The Pelican Grand VIP Penthouse has really spectacular views of the show, and some of the performers will be staying there or visiting during the show to do meet-and-greets, which is what we meant by “show center.”

  4. Brian Privitera says:

Is it better to purchase both days being that there are different acts on separate days.
If so is there discounts for purchasing both days.

  5. JRR says:

Are outside umbrellas allowed for the drop-zone section? I just read the tickets I purchased and it says no shaded structures, food or coolers allowed.

  6. Ashlie McCabe says:

Hi, question for the 2019 Drop Zone Beach. There is conflicting information regarding canopy beach umbrellas on your q&a page. Someone had asked about beach canopy umbrellas and if they are allowed as of March 2019. See below.
“Good afternoon, i do not have a tent or a awning what i have is a canopy umbrella that sits on the sand may i be able to use that? Thank you.
Reply FL Air Show March 18, 2019 at 11:03 pm
Yes, canopy umbrellas are okay. We will also have a company that rents them on site if you prefer to not lug your own to the beach”

On another section of your q&a it is indicated that there will be no umbrella rentals (2018) and canopy umbrellas are not permitted (2017). I realize these are previous years questions but I just want to make sure that canopy umbrellas are allowed for the 2019 show and confirm there will be a third party company to rent them from as we have a 18 month and 3 year old that will be there AND traveling from Tampa so the less I need to bring the better!! Can’t wait for the show!. Thanks for your time!

    • FL Air Show says:

Thanks for pointing that out Ashlie, we’ll make sure to get it updated. Single pole standard beach umbrellas are permitted. Anything larger is not out of respect for everyone getting a good view of the show.

    • FL Air Show says:

We’re a little far from Disney. When the USAF Thunderbirds perform at the inaugural Central Florida Air Show at Orlando Sanford Int’l Airport the end of October 2020 you might see a flyover =)

  7. Ava says:

Will the Blue Angels be doing a practice run on Friday May 3rd? They usually practice the day before their show

    • FL Air Show says:

Hey Rohan – so for the past few years, our show has been lead-sponsored by Ford Motor Companies, so we lovingly branded it the “Ford” Lauderdale show.

  8. Rick says:

My Family and I are looking forward to May 5th, we will be out there with a big Group celebrating my Wife’s Birthday. Is there any way to hear the Pilots with a Hand Held, if yes, what would the frequency be?

    • FL Air Show says:

Hey Rick, no, no way to hear the pilots via a hand-held device, but if you all have purchased tickets to the Drop Zone, then you will be positioned right by the speakers to hear everything the Air Boss and the pilots are doing! It’s the benefit of being our guest.

    • FL Air Show says:

Hey Joel, the specific schedule will be released about a week before the event, but the aerial show runs from noon to about 4 pm, ending with our headliners the US Navy Blue Angels.

      • Brian Privitera says:

Is it better to purchase both days because different acts could be on either or days.
If so is there a discount for both days.

        • FL Air Show says:

Hey Brian, the acts will be the same both days, so unless you are a super plane buff, we recommend choosing the day of your preference to come out!

    • FL Air Show says:

No, parking is first come, first serve. There is air show parking available out at the Mall with shuttle service to the corner of A1A and Sunrise.

    • FL Air Show says:

Hey John, the DropZone Beach opens at 10 am, so you can come set up, enjoy the sand and the waves, and grab a spot that early. We do have people who start lining up about 9:30 am.

    • FL Air Show says:

Uber and taxi rentals can bring you over to the Galleria Mall off of Sunrise Blvd, where you can either walk or take a shuttle down to the beach where the air show happens. You’d have to check with the public bus schedule for more information as to what will be running from the Tri-Rail station that day and to where.

  9. Georgia Morash says:

May God Bless you and the performers during the show. May He grant you safety for all involved. Thank you so much for your dedication, talent, and willingness to put this fantastic show on every year. We so look forward to it!!!

  10. Jeff says:

Where is there parking available closest to the “drop zone”?
Beach chairs and coolers are allowed, correct?

    • FL Air Show says:

We offer a universal discount to everyone that purchases their tickets in advance. We love pets, but for their safety we do not allow them at the show.

    • FL Air Show says:

It’s right in front of Hugh Taylor Birch State Park. The closest hotel to show center is the Sonesta.

      • Dave says:

The tickets say that coolers are not permitted and are pretty specific about only bring 1 bottle of water. Are coolers permitted or not?

        • FL Air Show says:

Hey Dave, coolers are allowed on the Drop Zone Beach general admission area, however no outside alcohol is allowed. I’ll chat with our ticketing team – it sounds like they might have had information copied from one of our non-beach shows.

  11. Norman says:

DO you have performer scheduled for each day of the air show ? I can’t make it on Saturday, but will be able to on Sunday. But I need to know who is performing Sunday. Thanks

  12. Roz says:

Hi. We are booked for the drop zone and wondered if it was possible to hire chairs and an umbrella locally for the show
as I understand they are not available to hire at the drop zone.

  13. FL Air Show says:

There are not any bleachers. We encourage that all spectators in the Drop Zone bring beach chairs or blankets.
